Best part about Canada: No AT&T!
(runner up: beer that doesn’t taste like water)

Here is a nearly comprehensive list of over 17 resources and the latest news for the iPhone in Canada. If you’ve got an iPhone north of the border or are planning to get one, we’ve collected as much info as possible.

It has come to my attention that there is a smallish country to the north called Canada. Apparently, those parka-toting suckers have been denied the iPhone. While Apple debuted the iPhone down here almost 3 months ago and a UK launch is not far off–there has been no firm date set for a Canadian release. Nada.

Canadians have had to resort to killing, maiming, and crossing the border to bring an iPhone home. And with no Canadian service provider, these smuggled iPhones will be relegated to revoltingly-expensive paperweight status (unless you get Geohot to unlock it for you).

Any tips or updates you have, let us know, eh?

Apple’s iPhone in Canada Latest News:

iphone canadaApple’s New iPhone Availability in Canada?
There are no official statements but the average wait time is 6-8 months minimum once they become available in the US (check the track record with previous smartphones). I’m also told the iPhone will be available on a two or three year contract, and a data plan must also be purchased (data plans in Canada aren’t cheap). Looks like an accurate release date in Canada is sometime Q4 2007 and into early 2008. About the same time that the phone will be available to European carriers.
